Great Outdoors Club
The Great Outdoors Club is dedicated to fostering a love for nature, adventure, and personal growth among high school students by providing hands-on experiences in the outdoors. Our mission is to create a community where students can explore, learn, and grow while engaging in activities like (but not limited to) fishing, kayaking, hiking, and survival skills training.
Through these activities, we aim to connect students with the natural world, promoting environmental stewardship and self-reliance. The club is committed to teaching essential outdoor skills such as fishing techniques, foraging, hiking safety, navigation, shelter-building, and wilderness first aid, empowering students to be confident, responsible outdoor enthusiasts. By developing these skills, members gain not only the tools for adventure but also valuable life lessons in teamwork and problem-solving.
We believe that spending time outdoors provides opportunities for personal reflection, relaxation, and a sense of accomplishment. Our goal is to cultivate a supportive, inclusive environment where students from all backgrounds and skill levels feel welcome to explore their interests and challenge themselves in a safe and encouraging space.
In addition to developing practical skills, the Great Outdoors Club strives to promote an understanding of environmental conservation. We aim to inspire our members to become active advocates for preserving our natural resources and encourage responsible outdoor practices such as Leave No Trace.
Ultimately, the Great Outdoors Club seeks to equip students with the confidence, knowledge, and respect for the outdoors, inspiring them to lead active, healthy lives and continue their connection with nature long after their time in high school.

Link Crew
|
What is Link Crew?
The transition to high school is a major event in the life of a young person and yet very few substantial strategies for support exist in most high schools. Numerous studies show that the transition to high school is marked by a period of emotional stress and discomfort for adolescents, often times resulting in a decrease in academic achievement and an increasingly difficult social adjustment. It is this combination of factors that can be the impetus to poor decision making, as well as high risk and self destructive behavior for freshman.
Join the Link Crew to make sure incoming Freshmen have a great experience in our building!
**If you're interested in being a Link Crew member for the 2026-27 school year, please contact Mrs. Kliebenstein.
